Ellison, Oracle CEO buys Indian Wells event

Computer by Oracle CEO Larry Ellison has next year's ATP-WTA Indian Wells Masters event, and the huge stadium, where it is played, it was announced Tuesday.

    Ellison bought the event and its causes in Rancho Mirage, about 160 miles east of Los Angeles, owner and founder Charlie Pasarell and Raymond Moore, former player and principles of PM Sports Management.

    The first tournament came at Indian Wells in 1976 with Pasarell tournament director in 1981.

    PM Sports Management will continue the event and the Indian Wells Tennis Garden to manage the new boss.
